Prototype Stereolithography The invention of prototype stereolithography in 1986 paved the way for rapid prototype machines. Today’s prototype stereolithography machines are capable of creating objects out of a variety of low cost, low weight materials. Prototype stereolithography machines commonly use powders, liquid resin or sheets of laminated paper to create the prototype by cutting into the surface of the material with a laser.
This is a basic overview of prototype stereolithography technology. For more information, please review our article on stereolithography apparatus or rapid technology prototyping.
